To obtain a Building Permit, visit Surgoinsville City Hall at 1735 Main Street to complete an application along with payment for the $25 application fee. From there, our Building Inspector, Bill Rupert, will follow up with you to discuss further.

On October 21st, 2025, Town of Surgoinsville adopted Ordinance No. 190-2025 which is an ordinance to amend The Surgoinsville Municipal Code, Title 12 Building, Utility, ETC. codes, by adding a new chapter 1 relating to building and property maintenance codes; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; to fix penalty for the violation of this ordinance; and to fix the ffective date of this ordinance.

On February 17, 2026, Town of Surgoinsville passed Resolution No. 169-2026 which is a resolution to establish fees for building and related permits and inspections.
